Rocky Mountain High
On May 21 we headed east and stayed at Ami's Acres RV Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado for 2 days. It was the coolest campground we have stayed in to date. The sites were cut right into the mountain side with spectacular views of The Rockies and the Colorado River below. Undivided attention had to be paid when pulling into our piece of the mountain. As I remember, Mary Ann got out of the camper at the office and walked down to our site after I had parked the RV. We lucked out with our next trip to Seibert, Colorado. We drove over the Vail Pass, on the morning of the 23rd and the pass was hit by a 5 inch snow storm that afternoon.

The Arches National Park... Moab, Utah
The last beautiful national park in Utah we visited for 3 days, on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, May 18 to 20 was The Arches. It was the easiest park to hike and get around and just as exciting to explore. It is amazing how the rock formations are ever changing. We stayed at Spanish Trail RV Park, in Moab, just south of the park. We were surrounded by the Utah mountains to the west and a spectacular view of The Rocky mountains to the east. Not a bad setting. Moab is a great little town with a brew pub that is second to none.

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
We were at the Bryce Canyon Pines RV Resort right outside of the canyon entrance on Friday and Saturday May 16 & 17. Out of all the national parks, I think Bryce is my favorite. It's a great place to hike and explore. Mary Ann and I hiked to the bottom of the canyon on the Queens Garden trail. Going down was a little more fun then walking back up.  Bryce is definitely another marvel of nature.

Zion Nation Park, Utah
We spent 2 days, May 14 & 15 exploring Zion Canyon. This is Mary Ann's choice of parks. We did a lot of hiking along the river, plus there is a beautiful hike to The Narrows, which they call strenuous, but we did not find it so, just a little long. While at Zion, we stayed at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, Utah. This has been one of the top parks on my list, large sites on the desert floor with fantastic mountain view surrounding the campground.

The Grand Canyon, AZ
Obvious one of the most breath taking sights to see in this country. With all there was to view, we had a bonus sighting of a group of elks while hiking up the south rim trail. We were up close and personal with a couple of them. Another bonus we had was our RV park. It was the Grand Canyon Railway RV Resort. The train makes daily runs to the south rim of Grand Canyon. It is also located on route 66 in the little town of Williams with an atmosphere of the past in the late 50's and early 60's. It brought back good memories.

Sin City
Happy Mother's Day from Las Vegas. This is definitely a fun place to be, even without the gambling.  We had good times, saw a good show (MJ Live at The Rio) plus we are getting out of town without putting up the RV keys as a bet on the poker table.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort
We are staying at The Oasis Resort on Las Vegas Blvd about 2 miles south of the strip. Mary Ann won so much money at the poker table in Las Vegas that they gave her a free stay at The Oasis for 3 nights. Not a bad deal. (Joke?...yes...but it is one great RV park)

Yosemite National Park, California
We stayed at the Yosemite Westlake RV Park for 4 days from April 30 to May 3 and went into the west entrance of Yosemite on route 120. The first thing that hit us was the devastation of the forest fire that hit Yosemite last year. Over 600,000 acres of beautiful trees were destroyed at the entrance of the park. The base of Yosemite is full of beauty around every corner and we lucked out because they opened the  Tioga Pass road, that goes from east to west over the mountain (of 10,000 ft.) the weekend we were there. This gave Mary Ann and I the chance to have a picnic lunch at the top of Yosemite Falls but we were disappointed that no bears showed up.
