A New Quest Begins

I have just launched this new RV book on amazon.com.

The focus of the book is to depict the pros and cons of owning and living in a motorhome year-round. Mary Ann and I have shared our feelings, tips, experiences, and advice, including interesting places to visit and personal recommendations of their favorite landmarks, and RV parks.

This unique book is backed up by an array of original photos highlighting places, events, national parks, and RV resorts. If you are ready for this lifestyle, it gives an account of selling your home, buying the right motorhome, where to register it, and everything needed to get on the road. It gives you an idea of how to set up a budget, save on discounts and even earn money while on this full-time adventure.

This is more than a “How to Book”. It is the real-life experiences that we have shared in this mobile living as full-time RVers. The book is written for both beginners who want to know what this RV life is all about and for experts who are looking for more adventure along the way.

 THE QUEST IS OVER

I have been waiting a few months to write this last post, because I really did not want to. We spent the summer at Lake George Escape with the strange atmosphere of the covid-19 virus over us. I was not asked to work at The Royal Coachman this winter. They were downsizing their work force because of the virus. With that happening, we put our motorhome back on the market and sold it in October to a young man named Ross Adam and his fiance who plan to travel the country for a year or two. I was really happy they were the ones to buy my RV for they have the same excitement and adventurous spirit as I did 7 years ago. I know they will make good memories in their travels. For us, Mary Ann and I are settling down in Queensbury, New York were it all started 50 years ago.   

Social Distancing...

With our resort being closed to the public for the month of April and many RVers heading north for the summer, the landscape and surroundings at our site looks better for a while. We will be staying here for the month of May and then head up to Lake George June 1st. 

Sign of the times...

It is so sad to be working in the office and not see anyone in the pool on a beautiful day in Florida...can't even walk the beach, but we should still consider ourselves lucky. 

Time is going fast...

We only have 1 1/2 months left (I hope) on one of the nicest sites we have ever stayed on, plus we are close to the bay. Mike and the kids apartment is all set up for them, but unfortunately because of the coronavirus they will not make it down this year. We are now in uncharted territory. The signature pool at the resort was closed yesterday plus all activities suspended because of the virus, so I guess we will just have to take it one day at a time. All Florida state parks overnight camping are now being closed completely for two months.

 

Mary Ann 's Garden

I am sorry I have neglected my blog, but we are still enjoying The Royal Coachman and I had to show off Mary Ann's hard work on her flowers, vegetable garden and new beautiful front lawn.   

We had to light up our cool new site #157 at The Royal Coachman this holiday season...so let it snow, or not.

 

Mary Ann is mad because she says I took her away from her family, then we spent a beautiful sunny 87 degree day and watched the sunset at The Jetty...What Family?

We are at our new digs on site #87 at The Royal Coachman... Nokomis, Florida watching the sunrise from our front yard every morning. Good way to start the day.

 

Saying goodbye to Mike's family...
We have spent 2 fun weeks at Mikes' house and enjoyed our last lunch at Doc's Deck on Lake Wylie. We are now heading south to Nokomis, Florida. .

 

The second night we stopped in Natural Bridge, Virginia with dinner at The Pink Cadillac Diner...a must place to go if you are ever in the area. The next day was another drive from hell, like the first one but without the high winds and rain. I-77 in the Carolinas was closed because of a bad accident and our GPS took us on a  detour route over windy mountain roads that no RV with a tow car should venture to try. After an additional three hours on the road we finally made it to Mikes' in Matthews, North Carolina and hopefully that will be the end of our bad luck as make our way south to Florida.  

A little help from Mary Ann...
Mary Ann is helping the RV tech at Adirondack Truck Service finish up their repairs before we headed south to the Carolina's and Florida. The first stop in Shartlesville, PA. we went through the worst three hour wind and rain storm I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. I hope that never occurs again, but we made it safely to our resort.

Our Lake Placid Fix...
Pizza by the water and dessert from The Sugar Shack, in the park, made for a great fall day.

We put our RV on the market this summer, but with on luck...we will take it south to Nokomis, Florida next month with the sale sign on it and shall see what happens there.

We went up to Burlington to visit Erik and his family for our anniversary weekend...good choice.

Saying goodbye to Yaren and Lisa...
One of the best part of this RV life is working with the foreign students in the summer.
